What this document is
If the relationship document (marriage / birth) is in Vietnamese, it MUST come with a Japanese translation. Submit BOTH the original and the translation.
What it must show
- Translate the ENTIRE content of the original into Japanese
- Clearly write the translator's FULL NAME + DATE at the end of the translation
- One original = one separate translation
Where to get it
You can translate it yourself (a family member/friend who knows Japanese) or hire a translation service. Notarization is not required.
How to get it
- Translate faithfully to the original (names, dates, place of issue, relationship)
- At the end of the translation write: translator (full name) + date + signature
- Attach it together with the original when submitting
Notes
The translation must MATCH the original and match the relationship (続柄) shown on the residence record (juuminhyo). A missing translator name often makes the Immigration Bureau ask again.
