What this document is
Details of the 身元保証人, used to fill the guarantee form.
What it must show
- The guarantor must be LIVING IN JAPAN
- A Japanese national or a foreign resident with stable status (permanent resident, engineer, long-term resident) all qualify
- Clearer income is better — the Embassy assesses who could cover costs if needed
- One person may guarantee several cases, but too many at once draws scrutiny
- The inviter and the guarantor need not be the same person — this is a legitimate route
Notes
Ask early: the guarantor must obtain their own tax and employment documents, which usually takes one to two weeks.
